Every member of the Vasiliades family has a hand in creating this fine olive oil, imported from our family farm in Preveza, Greece and we are proud to know our creation is served in your kitchen.

PREVEZA'S UNIQUE FARMING CULTURE

Archeologists have discovered fossilized olive leaves on the Greek islands of the Aegean dating back tens of thousands of years and the planting of olives trees likely began on the Greek island of Crete thousands of years ago. So as you can imagine, farmers have had time to perfect the art of producing the healthy trees and fine olives.

Greece's uniquely suited climate is reflected in the taste and texture of the olives grown on our farm. Because we only use olives that are hand picked early in the season, the essence or the health and vitality of the trees themselves is captured in every drop.

Olive oil plays a vital roll in Greek culture and cooking. It has it's conventional uses - adding subtle smooth tastes to many dishes - but it's also used in soaps, sweets and even in religious ceremonies. It's a deeply valued commodity and the country devotes approximately 60% of it's cultivated land to the growing of olives. We are proud of this heritage and are honored to be a part of such a historic industry.

A FAMILY SUCCESS STORY

Our family farm is located in Preveza Greece, just inches away from the historic site of Nicopoli where the battle of Actium took place in ancient times.

The Vasiliades family took over the farming operations in 1933 when they immigrated from Turkey and began to cultivate the land, care for it's trees and put down their own roots in this new country.

Today, the Vasiliades cousins still run the expanding olive farm and work with local olive oil experts to produce Kanali Olive Oil.

George Vasiliades, along with his wife and daughters, bring this quality product to the United States bottle it with all the respect of a family heirloom and hope that you enjoy it as much as they do.
